Roohani's
Wind Mill Site
We contacted the zoning
officals of Lincoln, RI and they said that
no towers are allowed on
residential properties, and neither are electric code generators. A wind tower would be considered an electric
code generator. A resident would need a variance from the zoning board. In order to get a variance, the resident
would need to obtain a application from the Town Hall and it would get
reviewed
by Russell Hervieux, who would then send it to the zoning board to be
approved. This whole process would take
almost four months. There is a 35' maximum heigh allowance, and
there is a coverage limitation on actual buildings on properties.
For instance, all buildings on properties in most residential zones
cannot take up more than 25% of the entire lot. A wind mill used
for aesthetics cannot exceed 15 feet.

This is the tree Roohani would like to replace with a wind mill.
It is roughly 75 feet tall. This is a pitfall because the zoning
regulations allow for a wind mill to be at a maximum of 35 feet.
